INTRODUCTION:
To begin with this message, I must remember that when we stand here, we do so for the sole purpose of guiding you and showing you through Scripture, what is good for all. With much fear of God and respect for you, but with the truth of the gospel of Jesus.

The phrase "put off" in this verse, essentially means "to distance from " or "to renounce". And with only these definitions, we know that maybe there will not be much applause or "amens."

Paul was teaching the members of the church in Ephesus, to distance away from their old man, to that natural, selfish and sinful way in which we think and act in this world. Our old man is deceitful, he can even convince us that we do not need to change or that the way of God is very hard.
• When I analyze our attitudes, many attitudes within the people of God, I have to think, where is what I learned from the teacher.
• For us it is so easy to justify ourselves, we have a thousand excuses for our behaviors.
• But the Scripture says in Colossians 3: 5 "Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth..."
• When we have understood the love of God, we move to desire a new life.
• We can think that after our initial repentance and conversion, there will be no need to repent again, because we have already been justified from sin through Jesus Christ. And for salvation this is correct, but when we later sin after being born again, gracefully we can go before God in repentance and confess our sin.
